Everything you would expect from an iconic survival expert but some things you would not. However, there is some seriously bad advice on offer here.On p.145 the idea that hitching a ride with your destination written on a piece of cardboard will likey be safer is doubtful. In the setion on tracking animals for food,he repeats the common advice that all the flesh of furred mammals and birds are edible which is not actually true.Vultures carry some of the worlds worst bacteria while Rats often carry Weils disease so both these are off the menu Sea birds may be palatable often taste of salty fish but are packed with salt so avoid unless you have water availablechokengtitiktitikchokeng168 More dangerous advice is to avoid dehydration by drinking from your car radiator or windscreen washer reservoir after purifying it before drinking. How this is possible even in a lab let alone a survival situation is not made clear.Virtually all car radiators, even those in warm climates contain Anti freeze and ingesting this will kill you in a short time.Detergent in the windscreen fluid will make you throw up and lose vital electrolytes.Given the above, this is still a great book on survival overall and otherwise 5 Stars.

Nice, easy to follow, bite sized chunks of information You ll certainly never get bored with a chapter. As a reference book, I found it difficult to navigate on Kindle, so if you want to jump forward on a hyperlink, it s not so easy to jump back to where you were reading.Hope I never need any of it but forewarned is forearmed, preparation is key KISS keep it simple stupid

A concise no nonsense approach to numerous potentially dreadful situations and how to get out of them as quickly as possible, along with practical advice on common scenarios Split into sections and chapters easy to reference I hope the Brother In Law never has to use the advice but it s a very good well written book.
